Composing Music for Games Workshop – Otakon 2012 Creations!

Composing Music for Games Workshop – Otakon 2012 Creations!

In this workshop attendees were asked to help create a music track for a free roaming game that is constantly changing in intense action. As a group we came up with various musical concepts that fit to the changing gameplay environment. This means that as the game got more intense, so did the music. Throughout the workshop attendees saw how this process is done.As a group we collectively went through the process of creating music for the game. After the two hours the evolving game soundtrack was created and we saw a live gameplay demo with the music we created. Remember the soundtrack was always changing accordingly to the game so it will never sound the same every time. This is a workshop that was not to be missed at this years convention!

______

Everything you hear was made on the spot for the duration of the workshop. (2 hours) and this is just an EXAMPLE of all of the levels of intensity we created. While playing the game in real time the music changes along with the gameplay environment. The demo posted here shows off all of the music that was composed throughout the workshop.
